Sway-A-Way’s New Torque Balanced Floater Axles are a new concept in floater axles. The minor diameter is sized so that its stiffness is the same regardless of length. Longer axles have a larger diameter and short axles have a smaller diameter so that the stiffness is the same. This will eliminate torque steer caused by the different stiffness of the long and short axle. Typically when a rear end has a long and a short axles installed of the same diameter, the short axle carrys more of the load because it is the stiffer of the two. These axles come in both solid and tubular forms for all racing applications. Made for aircraft steel, these axles are CNC machined, heat treted and centerless ground for a precise minor diameter. Made with the standard 24 tooth drive plate spline on one end and the 31 tooth spline on the other in lengths from 26″ to 36″ in one inch increments. Both ends are drilled and tapped for 3/8-24 locating bolts. Each 31 tooth end is a full 2″ long so that the end can be cut off for lengths that are not in stock.
